The LoompaOompas did not always live in Brazil. Common history tells us they migrated there from China, long ago. But if if this tale is to be believed, it wasn't migration. It was escape.
Once upon a time, there lived a kind, intelligent LoompaOompan male named Li-Si-Fu. He was perfect in character, mind, strength and speed, but he had one problem. He was ugly, and because he was ugly none would dare look at him, not even his parents; they abandoned him when he was 100 years old.
One day, he saw a beautiful mask, ornately carved from gigamorra wood and dyed with berry juice, being worn by a oddly tall LoompaOompa, and such sway it held over Li-Si-Fu that it destroyed his pure heart and began to eat at his mind. He could not bear not to have it, believing that if he could just obtain that mask he could be truly perfect. Thus, he found a nearby boar, jumped on its back, and charged it straight at his fellow LoompaOompa, tearing the mask from his face and placing upon his own.
But in the moment he did so, he could tell something had gone wrong, but it was too late; the mask fused to his face, imbued with the spite of its dead owner, and transformed Li-Si-Fu into a berserker with power over wind and lightning. He charged towards his village with murderous intent, but after a long struggle with the elders finally he and his demonic boar were slain. In his death throes, however, Li-Si-Fu shot a single, titanic thunderbolt which sped far across the world, in the end striking a lush part of the Amazon Rainforest, warping it into a rocky, forbidding canyon.
The unanimous decision was that their current home was no longer safe; thus, they spent seven hours crafting a titanic ship, large enough to carry the entire LoompaOompan population, and together they departed to Brazil.
